Modern Rock’s Battle of the Bands returns to the Sneads Ferry Community Center on Saturday, May 17th! Five local bands have been chosen out of tons of entries to battle it out for a shot at $1,000 and landing a song on Modern Rock 98.7’s New Music Underground Category for at least 2 weeks of airplay!

Audiomelt
Wilmington, NC based rock band Audiomelt is comprised of Landon Clark, Owen Wasterval, Josh Cook and Nico Holt. Four young men blending the old school sounds of the grunge era with more technical sounds of modern metal with the goal to deliver an unforgettable live show to a city near you!
Cape Fear Rising
An alt-rock-reggae band from Wilmington, NC. The three main founding members of the band are all Cape Fear Community College alumni… We have an eclectic mix of sounds that is sure to please every ear.
The Girls
Inspired by bands like My Chemical Romance, Green Day and The Gorillaz The Girls use a mix of high-energy, upbeat punk with catchy melodies.
Lowland Blues
Lowland Blues formed in Wilmington in 2022. Founding members Jeremy Roberts, Mike Roberts, and Stephen Guilliams are native to the low country and inspired by a range of influences. They have just released “The Getaway” as their first single from their upcoming full-length album.
Forty-Two
Forty Two was formed many moons ago, but only came to light about a year ago. The band was formed by Josh Zeldin and his brother while Josh was in the Army, putting them on hiatus until Josh’s hitch was finished. Since then, Forty Two has had an amazing year, and they are just getting started!
